As a young man, I was always interested in woodworking. I have carpenters in my family and was always around the trade to some extent. When I became a teenager and started to drive, I was interested in building my own speaker boxes for my truck. The first ones I made weren’t too great, but after experimenting with some I became very good at it and sold many of them. Later, I began to make some entertainment centers with my father’s tools. They wouldn’t compare to what we can make today, but for a circular saw, jig saw and limited cabinetry tools, they weren’t too bad. This was the start of a lifelong love of woodworking.

While building my own personal home, I decided to build my own cabinets after working for other cabinet shops in our area for a few years. After completing the project, many people who would see our home would ask who built our cabinets. Without really intending to, this started something that wouldn’t stop anytime soon.

Bailey’s Cabinetry and Woodwork was started in 1997 in Manchester TN. After several years and many projects later we opened a showroom in the area, incorporated and changed the name to Woodmarx Kitchens & More. Twenty-five years later and counting, we’re still into one thing: building the best cabinet money can buy while helping people get the kitchen or bath design of their dreams.
